We're Chicago Eagle — a no-fuss café and bar on North Clark where the coffee is pulled with care, the cocktails are made with intention, and every seat at the counter feels like yours.
Chicago Eagle opened its doors on North Clark with a simple idea: serve excellent coffee and drinks in a space where people actually want to hang out. No pretension, no rush-you-out energy — just good liquid and good company.
By day we're a specialty coffee bar, pulling shots from a single-origin espresso and offering pour-over for anyone who wants to slow down and taste the difference a careful roast makes. By night we turn into a cocktail bar, where the same attention to detail shows up in glassware, bitters, and the stories behind every drink on the menu.
We source from local roasters and Midwest distillers because we think a neighborhood bar should lift up its neighbors. If you're walking by on Clark Street and need a place to sit, rest, or just talk for a while — the door's open.
Our espresso is sourced from small-batch roasters across the Midwest — no commodity beans, no dark roast that tastes like ash. We rotate single-origins through the pour-over program so there's always something new to try.
If you're not sure what to order, tell us what you like — bright and fruity, or chocolatey and bold — and we'll point you to the right bean. That's the whole point of a neighborhood coffee bar: someone who actually knows the coffee and cares that you enjoy it.
When the sun goes down, Chicago Eagle becomes a cocktail bar. We make our own syrups, shrubs, and bitters in-house, and we lean heavily on Midwest distilleries because they make some of the best spirits in the country.
The cocktail menu changes with the seasons — we'll have a smoky bourbon number in the winter, a bright gin-and-herb drink in the summer. Wine and beer are curated the same way: rotating selections from local and regional producers.
No pretension, no velvet rope. If you've never had a properly made Old Fashioned, this is the place to learn what you've been missing.
We believe a good café should do more than serve drinks. It should host, support, and show up for the people around it. Here's how we try to do that.
We host open mic nights, local art shows, coffee cuppings, and trivia. It's our way of giving the neighborhood a place to connect — and giving local performers a stage.
Our roasters, brewers, and food suppliers are all within the Chicago metro. We'd rather support a neighbor than order from a catalog.
A physical board in the shop for local announcements, flyers, and notes. Still doing it the old way because sometimes you just want to post something on a wall.
